Answer

The fuzzy soft fabric in the center panel is non-absorbant, so if there is an “accident” while they are on the pad, just blot the accident with a paper towel. This should soak up most of the “pee.”

We do recommend washing the outer cover if there is an accident while changing.  Usually, if blotted properly right after a pee accident limited to the soft fuzzy area, the pee will not come in contact with the inner cover.  If this does happen, we recommend removing the memory foam and washing the inner cover as well as the outer cover.

The inner cover is made of water repellent material - similar to that of an umbrella - and will not carry over to even the most rigorous of accidents.  That said, although the memory foam should not be washed, you can treat it with Woolite or with light hand cleaning with a damp cloth.  If a situation should occur where where the memory foam is ruined for any reason (most usually this is due to a family pet getting to it), you may purchase a replacement memory foam cushion from our accessory store.
